Fraser Island has a large population of native dingoes and they take the issue quite seriously. No food is allowed outside fenced areas because they can be aggressive. We didn't see one but there has been at least one fatality in the last year.
I believe the, "gams" (to the left of the sign), belong to the girl in front of the ferry in your top posted picture. I'm no dog, but hey, let's be dingo-safe. The mother accused of killing her baby 30 years ago and pointed the finger at the dingoes, just recently renewed her plea to, "name the dingoes".
