The MF&W Festival started last night. There are events throughout the city but today we went to a wine tasting that included about 100 wineries from around Melbourne. It was great because we may not be able to tour this area, so seeing all the vineyards in one place was huge. There were also a few microbrews. As you can imagine this is Shiraz country and they had some great ones but there were also many, many Pinots. We made several purchases to take on the road with us for a nice bottle at the end of the day, but right now our hands down favorite is from Whitlands Vineyard, Holly's Garden, "luddite" Pinot Noir 2009.
