Nara Apartment

So sweet. And I am sort of over the Hilton and Hyatt but hey, free rooms are free rooms.

I don't really plan to cook in this kitchen but there is a nice little fridge and a tea kettle. I am ready to go minimalist for a few days.

Not sure how that shower fed from the bathroom sink is going to work tomorrow, but we'll see!

  1. Cute place! Curious, how does the cost compare to a hotel over there?

    1. Well of course hotels come in all prices. Compared to a 4-5 star hotel this would be much, much cheaper. This is about $70US per night. You can get a hotel or hostel for that price but might have a shared bath or even a dormitory style bedroom. Comparing to a mid range western hotel like say a Hilton or Hyatt, this is a lot less.

    2. In short, less than 1/4 the price. There are lots of hotels that I'm sure are just fine for 200/night but not any brands you've ever heard of or that would be reviewed on Tripadvisor. The shower was pretty tragic but perfectly workable. But it's not a place you want to come back to for a rest/recharge before heading out. You just want to head out again :) but it's totally fine.

    3. That said, Ms. Beef, this would make you really think twice about tiny house living. This isn't even that small but with more than 1 person, you are definitely bumping into each other trying to get ready in the morning.
