Fabulous restaurant

Had a great meal tonight at a restaurant named Changa in Istanbul. Delicious food and a view into the kitchen from above. As the picture shows there is a round glass panel in the ceiling of the kitchen/floor of the dining room allowing diners to look down into the kitchen. We had grilled octupus with 2 sauces - one miso and one sweet chili -- then olive oil braised celeraic with pears and tangerines, hazlenut crusted sea bass with a creamy basil and apple leather, wild mushroom dumplings in a parmesan sauce with lapsang souchon tea leaves. Mike and Sarah will recall those tea leaves! Pics may follow this post!

  2. Yes, you may be right! And that was just our first meal. Last night we had dinner at a place called Fishmekal with Adnan Vural who as you can imagine was an unbelievable host and he knows how to eat well in Instanbul. The only cure for this may be our upcoming trip to India and hopes that we get runny tummy for a few weeks. At least that will get rid of the water weight.
