Yes, it is a man belly dancing and this was a life-sized video exhibit in a totally black room. He looked so real. The artist is Kutlug Ataman and he is the dancer featured in his work called "Turkish Delight". The Istanbul Modern is 10 minutes down the hill from our hotel, right on the Bosphorus with amazing views.
Googled him...very interesting.
