Home Sweet Bangkok Airport

International transfers area and the Royal Silk Thai Airways lounge. Amazing terminal basically built on 2-3 floors high on top of the domestic terminal. It is enormous. Signs below direct you to a transfer counter that is a mere 800 meters away. Crazy! And on top of regular tourist stuff that is a bit better than normal junk, you have Tiffany, Chanel, Rolex, and every other luxury brand known to mankind. Not sure who is dropping 100K US on a watch during an international transfer, but someone must! Easy to get 10k steps in here. Somehow we ended up spending about 16 hours in this area in the past week with bad connections. It worked out well enough, as we needed some time without distraction to continue planning the forward journey, especially Japan. And you really can't complain when you have the sanctuary of the lounge including an onsite spa, showers, napping chairs.

The airport passenger terminal is 600 million square feet (4th biggest in world and the largest ever constructed in a single phase) and has the highest control tower in the world at 430 feet. It is also just littered with live orchids growing everywhere, plus loads of other foliage.
