Betel Leaf Wrap
Make your own: lime, ginger, dried shrimp, shallot, peanuts, chili peppers, coconut, a sweet fish sauce. Wrap it up in a betel leaf and enjoy! This was the welcome snack at our hotel in Phulay Bay. We have had this a few other places and it's really refreshing and better than a potato chip (my first love). This is much healthier. And it really does taste better. Thai food loves to combine many flavors - sweet, sour, hot, bitter - in a single bite or dish. Results are great and we will definitely be cooking more Thai when we return. Sunday night dinner anyone? We can now make some mean Thai food after our cooking class.
