Arrived in Ho Chi Minh City, headed from our room at the Pullman Hotel to the rooftop bar. Rooftop bars are all over Asian cities - hot trend in past 5 years. Our rooftop bar Cobalt has great view, hip DJ spinning tunes, but is definitely not the coolest one in town. In my pre-arrival research of best rooftops, it didn't make any list. You wouldn't even know they had a rooftop bar! Well, we were basically alone, until a group of 4 other (all over 60) westerners appeared. The DJ finally gave up and packed it in at 10pm on a Friday night. We're living now!
Interestingly, it is supposed to be a wine bar. Of the 4 white wines offered by the glass, they were out of 2. Or as they say around here "That one finish. That one finish too."
Probably doesn't help that they have, by far, the world's most uncomfortable furniture. We jumped into the prime seats right on the edge, imagining someone else might show up and want them. After 2 minutes, John said: "I can't sit here" and we retreated to some barstools.
LOL - VN has the hardest beds I've ever slept in!!
