Dining in the Dark

Here's an experience. This restaurant is called Noir - as in black. Except for the greeter you are initially met and served a drink by people who are deaf and mute. But the amazing part is that you are then taken into a room that is completely dark. Led in by your waiter who is blind with your hands on his shoulders. Did I say dark. My friends this room is absolutely pitch black. You cannot see your hand a inch in front of your face. And it never gets better. Your eyes never adjust. Very disconcerting at first. Almost claustrophobic. You have no idea how big the room is and you never get to see it. Then you're served dinner by your blind waiter and you eat without being able to see anything. Your sense of sight is just completely gone. After dinner hands back on the waiter and you are led out where they sort of debrief you and show you what you had to eat. This is the number one restaurant in HCMC on TripAdvisor. It's not all gimmick, the food is great. Here's a pic of our meal as well.

  3. How do you know that what they showed you was really what you ate?

    1. ah. Good point. We could have been eating anything but it was good!!! We did the vegetarian option at suggestion of our prior foodie tour so I felt pretty safe
